Over forty years ago, my family and I made our journey to America in search of a better life. Approximately 58,000 military personnel did not make it home from Vietnam to their families; 1,200 more are still missing in action. I truly understand and appreciate the sacrifices that our veterans have made to secure a better life for everyone — including a refugee, immigrant family.
I respect the sacrifices all of our veterans have made and are currently making to ensure our freedoms and way of life. My life has been dedicated to showing my appreciation for their courage and sacrifices. One of the small ways I honor our veterans is to help provide unclaimed veterans their rightful resting place; another is to always find an opportunity to simply say, “Thank you” for all they have done, and continue to do, for all Americans.
